Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model based on strengthening character education in learning mathematics in class X MIA 2 SMA Kartika XX-I Makassar. The population in this study were all students of class X SMA Kartika XX-I Makassar consisting of 6 classes and the sample in this study was students of class X MIA 2 with a total of 29 students. The statistical analysis used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. From the results of the descriptive statistical analysis, the learning outcomes were categorized as good with an average score of 79.79 and a standard deviation of 9.275. The results of observations of the implementation of learning obtained a percentage of 88.88% which was in the very good category, student activity in learning obtained a percentage of 78.78% which was in the active category, and student responses obtained a percentage of 82.06% which were in the very good category. This is reinforced by inferential analysis with the t-test which shows that the results of students' mathematics learning are more than the KKM and the gain value reaches the moderate category, namely 0.6. Based on these acquisitions, it can be concluded that the use of the Think Pair Share cooperative learning model based on strengthening character education is effective to apply.
