Abstract

The objective of the research was aimed to know whether or not the implementation of Star Knights’ Game effective improve the students speaking ability at the second-grade students of SMKN 3 Makassar. This research used a experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the second-grade of SMKN 3 Makassar. The total sample was 20 Students. The result of the data showed  that the mean score of post-test was greater than the pre-test (10.60 > 8.75) and the t-test value was greater than the t-table value (7.594 > 2.086) at the level of significant 0.05. It can also proved by the result of three components of speaking, were the post-test result was higher than the pre-test. So it can be concluded that from the score of the three components of speaking in post-test (accuracy, fluency, comprehensibility) was greater than the score of the three components of speaking in pre-test. The analyses promote that the students’ their speaking ability after taught by using Star Knights’ game would significantly increase rather than students’ speaking ability before they were taught by Star Knights’ Game.
