Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of compensation and discipline on employee performance at the education office in the city of Makassar, and to determine the variables that dominate in it. The population in this study were 185 employees at the education office in the city of Makassar. The sample in this study was determined based on the Slovin formula where the total sample size was 65 employees at the education office in the city of Makassar. The data analysis techniques used in this study were validity and reliability tests, data normality tests, multiple linear regression analysis tests, and hypothesis testing. The results of the research and discussion show that compensation and work discipline have a positive and significant effect both simultaneously and partially on the performance of employees at the Makassar City Education Office. The most influential variable in this study is the compensation variable, this can be proven from the results of multiple linear regression analysis which shows the beta value of the compensation variable is greater than the work discipline variable.
