Abstract

This study was aimed to analyze the effect of employment contracts on employee performance; to analyze the effect of discipline on employee performance; and to analyze the simultaneous effect of employment contracts and discipline on employee performance at Kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean B Makassar. The research type was quantitative which was designed to answer the problems that have been formulated and the objectives to be achieved as well as to test hypotheses. The population was all employees at Kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean B Makassar, totaling 117 employees. The sample size was selected using the Slovin technique, which was 91 respondents. Data analysis used descriptive and multiple linear regression analysis. The results of the study found that the employment contract had a significant effect on employee performance. The employment contract as an agreement made by the company provides convenience for every employee in carrying out their routine tasks, both contract employees and permanent employees that affect the achievement of performance at Kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean B Makassar. Discipline had a significant effect on employee performance. Meant that discipline had been properly actualized by each employee to obey the rules that have been set by realizing justice in work, implementing waskat, receiving sanctions if violating, the firmness of the leadership made employees more obedient to the rules and created working relationships between employees that affect the achievement of performance at Kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean B Makassar. The employment contract and discipline simultaneously affect the employee performance at Kantor Pengawasan dan Pelayanan Bea dan Cukai Tipe Madya Pabean B Makassar. This meant that increasing in performance was determined by the quantity, quality, efficiency, effectiveness and cooperation of every employee who entered into an employment contract and showed discipline in work.
