Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of transformational leadership, situational leadership and motivation on employee performance at the Education Office of Makassar City. The population in this research was all employees at the Education Office of Makassar City totaling 177 employees. The sample was 63 employees. The respondent sampling technique was chosen by simple random sampling technique. This research uses quantitative/descriptive methods. Data collection methods used were observation, questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Test the quality of data using validity and reliability tests. The analytical method used was multiple regression analysis, F test (simultaneous test), t test (partial test), and test the coefficient of determination. The results showed that transformational leadership variable, situational leadership and motivation had a positive and significant effect on employee performance (F test). From the results of the partial test (t test) shows that transformational leadership variable, situational leadership and motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. So the hypothesis of this research is acceptable. From the test results of the coefficient determination shows the value of 0.645 or equal to 64.5% indicates that the ability possessed by independent variables is very strong to explain the dependent variable and the remaining 35.5% can be explained by other variables outside of the research variable. Thus the regression equation obtained is efficient to describe the relationship between variables.
