Abstract

The purpose of this study is to test and analyze whether competence and compensation have a significant effect on employee performance at The Regional Office of Directorate General of Customs and Excise Southern Sulawesi. The study was conducted with a quantitative approach and tested the hypothesis that competence and compensation have an effect on employee performance at The Regional Office of Directorate General of Customs and Excise Southern Sulawesi. The data collected using a survey method with a questionnaire instrument. The population of this research is all employees of The Regional Office of Directorate General of Customs and Excise Southern Sulawesi totaling 102 people with total sample method. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing through the F test and T test and the coefficient of determination (R2). The analysis found that there was a significant relationship and influence between competence and compensation on employee performance. The Influence of competence and compensation simultaneously on improving employee performance at The Regional Office of Directorate General of Customs and Excise Southern Sulawesi is 80% while the remaining 20% is influenced by other variables. The conclusion of this research is that competency and compensation simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance at the Regional Office of DJBC South Sulawesi, where if competence and compensation are increased, then the employee performance will be also increase.
