Abstract

The research aims to find out the credit offer strategy and handle bad debt at Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Pintu Air Cabang Akareso Makassar. This research used primary and secondary data. Data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research used descriptive qualitative analysis by analyzing, elaborating, arranging, classifying, describing credit offer strategy thoroughly, and handling bad debt at Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Pintu Air Cabang Akareso Makassar. The result showed that the credit offer strategy at Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Pintu Air Cabang Akareso Makassar is not following the Standard Operational Procedure since there was a violation of its implementation. Koperasi did not do the 5 C’s analysis thoroughly in giving the credit by considering the real consumer condition and ability. The handling of bad debt is done by identifying the bad credit and refers to the responsible party to rescheduling or lengthen the credit term. If the debtor did not respond to this consideration, the staff would prepare the arrears data with enclosing the debt contract and confirm it to the debtor. If the debtor ignores the third reprimand letter, then there will be a withdrawal of collateral.
