Abstract

This research aims to prove the correlation between eye-hand coordination and the short serve ability in badminton, the correlation between wrist flexibility and the short serve ability in badminton, the correlation between eye-hand coordination and wrist flexibility simultaneously on short serve ability in badminton. The research method used is a quantitative research method and this type of research is correlational research involving two independent variables, namely eye-hand coordination and wrist flexibility, while the dependent variable is the short serve ability. The population in this research were students of PENJASKESREK STKIP YPUP Makassar with 30 students as sample who were selected by simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used is the correlation coefficient. The results of the research showed that: 1) There was a significant correlation between eye-hand coordination and the short serve ability in badminton with a value of r = 0.755; 2) There is a significant correlation between wrist flexibility and the short serve ability in badminton with a value of r = 0.731; 3) There is a significant correlation between eye-hand coordination and wrist flexibility simultaneously with the short serve ability in badminton with a value of R = 0.853.
