This research aims to prove the correlation between leg muscle strength and the
100-meter running ability, the correlation between leg length and the 100-meter
running ability, the correlation of foot reaction speed and the 100-meter running
ability, the correlation between leg muscle strength, leg length, and foot reaction
speed simultaneously on the 100-meter running ability. The research method used
is a quantitative research method and this type of research is correlational involving
three independent variables, namely leg muscle strength, leg length, and foot
reaction speed, while the dependent variable is the 100-meter running ability. The
population in this research were athletes athletic from Takalar Regency, with a
sample of 30 people taken by simple random sampling. The data analysis technique
used is the correlation coefficient. The results of the research showed that: 1) There
is a significant correlation between leg muscle strength and the 100-meter running
ability with a value of r = -0.710; 2) There is a significant correlation between leg
length and the 100-meter running ability with a value of r = -0.704; 3) There is a
significant correlation between foot reaction speed and the 100-meter running
ability with a value of r = 0.707; 4) There is a significant correlation between leg
muscle strength, leg length, and foot reaction speed simultaneously with the 100-
meter running ability with a value of R = 0.897.
