HUBUNGAN KELENTUKAN PERGELANGAN TANGAN, PANJANG LENGAN DAN DAYA LEDAK OTOT LENGAN TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN SMASH DALAM PERMAINAN BULUTANGKIS MAHASISWA PENJASKESREK STKIP YPUP MAKASSAR

Abstrak

This study is aimed to prove the correlation of wrist flexibility on smash ability in badminton; the correlation of arm length on smash ability in badminton; the correlation of arm muscle explosive power on smash ability in badminton; the correlation of wrist flexibility, arm length and arm muscle explosive power on smash ability in badminton. The research method used quantitative and the research type was correlational research involving two variables: independent variables, namely wrist flexibility, arm length and arm muscle explosive power, and dependent variable was smash ability in badminton. The population in this study were students of Penjaskesrek at STKIP YPUP Makassar Class 2018 in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, with 30 participants as sample taken by simple random sampling. The data analysis technique used correlation coefficient. The results of the research found that: 1) there was a significant correlation of wrist flexibility on smash ability in badminton, with a value of r = 0.785 (p <ɑ = 0.05 ); 2) there was a significant correlation of arm length on smash ability in badminton, with a value of r = 0.701 (p<ɑ= 0.05); 3) there was a significant correlation of arm muscle explosive power on smash ability in badminton, with a value of r = 0.679 (p<ɑ= 0.05); 4) there was a significant correlation of wrist flexibility, arm length and arm muscle explosive power on smash ability in badminton, with a coefficient of determination R2 = 0.756 (p<ɑ= 0.05)
