Abstract

This research aims to determine students' mathematics learning outcomes by applying the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) cooperative learning model. This research is classroom action research (CAR). The subjects in this study were class VII students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar in the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 21 students. Data collection techniques used were through tests, teacher activity observation sheets, student activity observation sheets and student response questionnaires for each cycle. Data were analyzed by quantitative and qualitative data analysis. After using the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) model, the average score of students' mathematics learning outcomes for Social Arithmetic material at the end of the first cycle was 55.28 from the ideal score of 100 with student learning completeness of 9.52%, and at the end of the second cycle obtained an average student learning outcomes of 79.52, from the ideal score of 100 with complete learning outcomes in the second cycle of 90.47%. The standard deviation in the first cycle is 12.211, and the standard deviation at the end of the second cycle is 6.742. Based on the category of assessment used, the acquisition of students' mathematics learning outcomes which were categorized as complete in the first cycle, there were 2 students who completed and became 19 students in the second cycle. There was an increase in learning outcomes by 80.95%. This indicates that the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFAE) learning model can improve mathematics learning outcomes for seventh-grade students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar
