Abstract

This research is classroom action research that aims to improve students' mathematical creative thinking through quiz method. The subjects in this research were class VIIb students of SMP Negeri 2 Nosu in 2021/2022 academic year, with a total of 15 students. Data were collected by test, observation sheet for students and teachers. Based on the results of the research cycle I and cycle II, it shows that after treatment by using quiz method, the students’ score increased from cycle I to cycle II. This is indicated by the average 52 from the first cycle increased to 72.067 in the second cycle from the ideal score of 100. The standard deviation in the first cycle was 15.130 and the standard deviation in the second cycle was 7.302.  The highest score was 73 and the lowest score was 31 in the first cycle, the highest score was 89 and the lowest score was 64 in cycle II. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that there was an increase of students’ creative thinking in learning mathematics through quizzes at the seventhgrade students of SMP Negeri 2 Nosu, with the main materials triangle and quadrilateral.
