Abstract

This research is classroom action research that aimsto improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the Discovery Learning Model. The subjects in this research were the seventh-grade students of SMP Kristen KondoSapata Makassar in the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of 15 students. The research data was obtained through test, student activity observation  sheets and teacher activities. Based on the results of the research in cycle I and cycle II, it showed that after being given treatment using the Discovery Learning model, the learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Kristen Kondo Sapata Makassar increased from cycle I to cycle II. This is indicated by the average value of 67.60 in the first cycle which increased to 87.66from the ideal score of 100,the standard deviation in the first cycle of 5.096 and the standard deviation  in the second cycle of 4.220.The occurrence of changes in student activities from 33.22% in the first cycle increased to 56.28% and  teacher activities from 80.95% increased  to 95.23%. Based on the description above, there was an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes with the application of Discovery Learning model. The refore, it can be concluded that using the Discovery Learning Model can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes on the quadrilaterals and triangles subject.
