Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the effect of self-efficacy on mathematics learning outcomes in class VIII students of SMP Hasanuddin Gowa. This was an "ex post facto" research. The population in this research were all students of class VIII SMP Hasanuddin Gowa who also became the research sample. The results of descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average score of self-efficacy of students in class VIII of SMP Hasanuddin Gowa was 53.12, standard deviation of 7.157 with the ideal score obtained by students of 64, while the average score of mathematics learning outcomes for students of class VIII of SMP Hasanuddin Gowa was 84.65, standard deviation was 15.602 with an ideal score obtained by students of 100. The results of inferential statistical analysis obtained a simple linear regression equation that was Y =29.324+1.042X with the results of the significance test of the regression equation coefficient obtained that Fcount was greater than Ftable (7.102 > 4.26) or (0.01 < 0.05).
