Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIIB SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar. This research is a correlational ex-post facto research. This research is correlational because it investigates the influence between two variables, namely the dependent variable and the independent variable. The dependent variable is learning achievement and the independent variable is learning style. The population in this research were all eighth-grade students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar which consisted of two classes. The sample in this research were students of Class VIIIBSMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar who were selected by a simple random sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical analysis techniques. The results show the value of R-square = 0.635 which shows that as much as 63.5% of student achievement is determined by learning styles and the rest is determined by other variables. The hypothesis testing shows H1accepted, which means that students' learning style has a positive effecton mathematics learning outcomes of class VIIIB SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar.
