Abstract

This research is a class action research (CAR). The subjects in this study were class VIIIa students of SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar. This research was conducted in 6 meetings and 2 times giving instrument tests, teacher observation sheets and student observation sheets. The subjects in this study were class VIIIa students of SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar for the 2021/2022 academic year with a total sample of 17 students. This study aims to increase students' creativity in solving math problems using a contextual learning model in class VIIIa SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar with material on a system of two-variable linear equations. The data analysis technique used in this study is quantitative calculated using descriptive analysis. The results of data analysis in cycle I showed that the average student creativity was 65.29 out of 17 students in the good category. The results of data analysis in cycle II showed that the average student creativity was 85.58 which was in the very good category and the standard deviation in cycle I was 14.08, the standard deviation in cycle II was 8.70. From 17 students there was a change in student activity from 80% in cycle I increased to 93% in cycle II, and there was a change in teacher activity from 81% in cycle I increased to 95%. Based on the results of data analysis, it was concluded that the application of the contextual learning model for class VIIIa students of SMP YP-PGRI 4 Makassar with the subject matter of the two-variable linear equation system has increased.
