Abstract

This research aims at improving students’ ability in Math solving problrm through inquiry learning at SMP Bunda Kasih Sudiang, Makassar. This research is an action research. The total sample is 17 students. The data was collected through testing solving math problem and observation sheet for students’ activity in every cycle. There were two cycles. Technique of data analysis is qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result indicated that the use of inquiry learning can improve students’ ability in Math solving problem. The average score in cycle I was 63.82 with deviation standard 10.513 with the completion was 29.41. In cycle II the improvement became 88.24% with average score was 78.88 with deviation standard was 10.319. Based on the score category, in cycle I it was categorized completed that consisted of five students and cycle II it became 15 students. It can be concluded that inquiry learning model can improve students’ ability in Math solving problem for the students of SMP Bunda Kasih Sudiang Makassar.
