Abstract

This study aims to compare the average mathematics learning outcomes of students taught using the Multi Representation Discourse Learning model with the Direct Learning model for class VIII students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar. This research is an experimental research. The research samples were students in class VIII.a, which consisted of 20 students, and were taught using the Discourse Multi Representation Learning model. And class VIII.b, which consisted of 21 students, was taught using the Direct Learning model. The research data collection was carried out through learning achievement tests, and processed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results showed that the average score of students taught using the Multi Representation Discourse Learning model was 79.9 with a standard deviation of 80 which was categorized as high. Meanwhile, the average score of students taught by the Direct Learning model was 59.90 with a standard deviation of 10.029 which was categorized as low. The results of the inferential statistical test showed that the calculation results obtained tcount = 9.58 and ttable = 1.6795. Because tcount> ttable, H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected, which indicates that there is a significant difference in the average score of students' mathematics learning outcomes taught by the Multi Representation Discourse Learning model with the scores of students' mathematics learning outcomes taught by the Direct Learning model in class VIII students SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar.
