Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve students' mastery of mathematical concepts through the Numbered Head Together (NHT) Cooperative learning model. The subjects in the study were students of class XI-TKJ at SMK Bajiminasa Makassar in the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of 16 students. The data collection technique used was through tests of mastery of mathematical concepts and observation sheets of student and teacher activities for each cycle. Actions were carried out over two cycles. Analysis of research data by means of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed that using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model could improve students' mastery of mathematical concepts. In cycle I the average was 69.56 with a standard deviation of 9.259 with a completeness of 37.5%, and at the end of cycle II it increased to 87.5% with an average of 84.19 and a standard deviation of 12.001. Based on the assessment category used, the score for increasing students' mastery of mathematical concepts in cycle I which was categorized as complete was 6 students and in cycle II it became 14 students. From the results of the research obtained, it can be concluded that using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model can improve the mastery of mathematical concepts in class XI-TKJ SMK Bajiminasa Makassar on the material Patterns of Numbers, Sequences and Series.
