Abstract

This research is a classroom action research that aims to improve the ability to think creatively in class XOTKP SMK Bajiminasa Makassar through the application of a problem based learning approach. The subjects of this study were students of class XOTKP SMK Bajiminasa Makassar for the 2021/2022 academic year with a total of 14 students. The form of the instrument used was the administration of a test whose validity had been tested. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis. Judging from the results of data analysis in cycle I, it shows that the average percentage of student activity obtains 54.54%, teacher activity obtains an average of 67.31%, student response questionnaires obtain an average percentage of 83.57% and the total average value -the average of students' creative thinking skills in each aspect of 14 students reached 63.39 with classical completeness reaching 71.42%. While the results of data analysis in cycle II, showed that the average percentage of student activity obtained 88.63%, teacher activity obtained an average of 90.38%, student response questionnaires obtained an average percentage of 89.286% and the total average score of ability students' creative thinking in every aspect of the 14 students reached 76.43 with classical completeness reaching 85.71%. It can be concluded that the application of a problem based learning approach can improve students' creative thinking skills.
