Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, and Extending) through media handouts on student learning outcomes. The population in this study were all class VIII students of SMPN 2 Nosu for the 2019/2020 academic year with a total of 23 students. While the sample in this study was 23 from class VIII. Research data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis. The results of the descriptive analysis show the results of student learning before being taught with the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) through handout media. Very low category with an average value of 28.39 with a standard deviation of 11.093. And after being taught with the CORE learning model (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) through handout media, it is classified as a good category with an average of 56.5 with a standard deviation of 6.112. The results of this analysis illustrate that students' mathematics learning outcomes experienced a significant increase from pretest to posttest with a gain value of 0.83 in the high category. Student activity in the learning process is in the good category, student responses to the learning process are positive and the implementation of learning is good.
