PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN LEARNING CYCLE UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIIB SMP NEGERI 3 ILE APE

Abstract

This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) by applying Cycle Learning Model which aims to improve students' mathematical problem solving ability. The population of the research was the seventh grade students of class B SMP NEGERI 3 ILE APE in 2021/2022 academic year. The total sample was 15 students. The data collection technique used was through tests of students' mathematics learning outcomes and students’ activity observation sheets in each cycle. The implementation of the action was carried out in two cycles. Data analysis of research results was carried out by means of quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results obtained from this research explained that after the implementation of Learning Cycle model there was an increase in the average score of students' learning outcomes for the One Variable Linear Equation material which at the end of the first cycle was obtained 74.80 from the ideal score of 100 with a completeness percentage of 73.33% and at the end of the second cycle increased to 83.067 from the ideal score of 100 with a completeness percentage of 86.67% with a standard deviation in the first cycle of 9.002 and in the second cycle of5.1334. Based on the assessment category used, the scores of students' mathematics learning outcomes in the first cycle which categorized as complete were 11 students and in the second cycle there were 13 students. From the research results obtained, it can be concluded that the Learning Cycle model can improve the mathematical problem solving ability at the seventh grade students of class B SMP NEGERI 3 ILE APE on the subject of SPLSV.
