UPAYA MENINGKATKAN MOTIVASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWAKELAS VIII SMP NEGERI 5 BAMBANG MELALUI METODE TEAM TEACHING

Abstract

The research type was classroom action research (CAR) using team teachingmethod which aimed to increase students' motivation and mathematics learning outcomes. The subjects of this study were class VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Bambang for 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 16 students. Data collection techniques used tests, learning activity observation sheets, and student learning motivation questionnaires for each end of the cycle. The implementation was carried out in two cycles, analyzing data by quantitative and qualitative. The results of this study showed that in the first cycle the average value was 58.38 with standard deviation of 12,463 with completeness of 25%. In the second cycle, it increased to 78.00 with standard deviation of 5.854 with completeness of 93.75%. The students’learning motivation questionnaire in the first cycle obtained an average value of 79.25 was in high category and then increased in the second cycle with an average of 88.7 was in very high category. Based on the assessment category used, the score of student learning outcomes in the first cycle was categorized as complete, there were 4 students and in the second cycle there were 15 students. So, this study explained the increasing in motivation and mathematics learning outcomes for class VIII students of SMP Negeri 5 Bambang by using team teaching method on the subject of Relations and Functions.
