Abstract

This research had been carried out at SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar, with the type of research namely Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 meetings. The instruments used in this study were the ability test of students' mathematics learning outcomes, student response questionnaires to PAKEM learning model, and guidelines for observing the implementation of learning. Data from observations, tests and questionnaires were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively which was strengthened by documentation. Based on the results of the study, it was shown that after being given the action using PAKEM learning model, the ability of mathematics learning outcomes for students of class VIII SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar increased from cycle I to cycle II. This was shown from the average value in the first cycle, which was 68.78 from the ideal score of 100 and completeness 30.43% from the ideal score of 100 and at the end of the second cycle it increased to 82.78 from the ideal score of 100 and the completeness of learning outcomes was 86, 95%. The standard deviation in the first cycle was 10,787 and the standard deviation in the final cycle or the second cycle was 5,517. Thus, it can be concluded that PAKEM learning model improved students' mathematics learning outcomes on the subject of cubes and blocks.
