PENERAPAN METODE PEMBELAJARAN TUTOR SEBAYA DALAM MENINGKATKAN HASIL BELAJAR MATEMATIKA SISWA KELAS VIII SMP KRISTEN KONDO SAPATA MAKASSAR

Abstract

The research was classroom action research, it aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through peer tutoring method. The population of the research was the eighth-grade students of SMP Kristen Kondo Sapata Makassar in 2021/2022 academic year with the total number was 17 students. The research data obtained was through learning outcomes tests, student activity observation sheets and teacher activity observation sheets. Based on the results of the research cycle I and cycle II showed that after being given action using peer tutor learning method. The learning outcomes of the eighth-grade students of SMP Kondo Sapata Makassar have increased from cycle I to cycle II. This is indicated by the average value of 53.06 in the first cycle increasing to 86.71 from the ideal score of 100, the standard deviation of the first cycle of 12.018 and the standard deviation in the second cycle being 5.394. There was a change in students’ activity from 74.44 % in cycle 1 increased to 94.41% and teacher activity from 79.48% increased to 97.43. Based on the description above, there was an increased in students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of peer tutoring method. Thus, it can be concluded that by using peer tutoring learning method can improve students’ learning outcomes on the subject of flat side space.
