THE USE OF VOICE OF AMERICA (VOA) LEARNING ENGLISH APPLICATION TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY AT FOURTH-SEMESTER STUDENTS OF ENGLISH EDUCATION AT STKIP YPUP MAKASSAR

Abstract

This research is intended to find out whether VOA Learning English Application improved the students' speaking ability at the fourth semester students’ of english department at STKIP-YPUP Makassar.This research used a pre-experimental research method. The population of this research was the fourth semester students’ of english department at STKIP-YPUP Makassar. It consisted of one class with a total number of 28 students. This research used the porposive sampling technique which took 17 students in the class as the sample. The result of this research showed that the mean score of the post-test was higher than the pre-test (8,94 > 13). The result of the t-test value was higher than t-table (3,20 > 2.120). Finally, the researcher concludes that using of voice of america (voa) learning english application to improve students’ speaking ability at the fourth semester of english department at STKIP-YPUP Makassar.
