USING ASSET BASED THINKING METHOD TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING ABILITY AT THE SECOND GRADE STUDENTS OF SMKN 3 MAKASSAR
Abstract
The objective of this rescarch is to know whether or not the implementation of Asset Based Thinking Method can improve students' speaking ability at the second-grade students of SMKN 3 Makassar. This research used a pre experimental method with one group pre-test and post-test design. The population of this research was the second-grade of SMKN 3 Makassar. The total sample was 20 students. The result of the data showed that the mean score of post-test was greater than the pre-test (9.85 >7.05) and the t-test value was greater than the t- table value (12.457> 2.093) at the level of significant 0.05. It was proved by the result of the three components of speaking. (accuracy, fluency and comprehensibility) where the post-lest result was higher than the pre-test. So, it can be concluded that Asset Based Thinking Method significantly increase students' speaking ability at the second-grade of SMKN 3 Makassar.
