THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE WORD OF WONDERS GAME TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ VOCABULARY MASTERY AT SMP YP PGRI 4 MAKASSAR
Abstract
This research aimed to find out whether the Implementing Word of Wonders (WOW) Game improves students' vocabulary mastery at YP PGRI 4 Makassar. The problem statement of this research was “Does the implemented the Word of Wonders (WOW) game improve English vocabulary mastery at the first-year student of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar?". The research was conducted in the first grade of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar in the academic year 2022/2023. The sample used in this research was 30 students by using a total sampling technique. The research design used was pre-experimental. This research used pre-test and post-test to collect the data and process research data using three ways; SPSS, Manual, and Microsoft Excel. The results of the data show that there is a significant difference in the student's English vocabulary. it can be seen from the mean score of students in the pre-test 65.1 while in the post-test 79.8 This is also evidenced by the t-test score higher than the t-table (11.66 > 2.045). Based on the analysis of the results, it can be concluded that teaching English Vocabulary by implementing the Word of Wonders game can Improve Vocabulary Mastery in first-grade students of SMP YP PGRI 4 Makassar.
